SBP decides not to issue new currency notes on Eid-ul-Fitr

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided not to issue new currency notes on Eid-ul-Fitr this year due to the Corona epidemic.

To curb the spread of the corona epidemic, the State Bank of Pakistan has decided not to issue new currency notes even on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr this year.  Officials say no new currency notes of any denomination will be issued to the public on Eid al-Fitr in the wake of the Corona epidemic. No new notes were issued last year in the wake of the Corona epidemic.

It should be noted that additional currency notes of about Rs. 300 billion are printed on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr every year.  This year too, the non-issuance of new currency notes by the central bank on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr will increase the pressure on the currency note markets, which will make the sellers of new currency notes silver.

It is worth mentioning here that every year on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the demand for new currency notes of Rs. 10, Rs. 20, Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 increases, taking advantage of which the currency dealer pays an additional Rs.  , 300 to 500 rupees on a 20 rupee doll, 600 to 700 rupees on a 50 rupee doll and 800 to 1000 rupees on a 100 rupee doll
