KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has congratulated the national cricket team on winning six consecutive series and Babar Azam on becoming the first Pakistani captain to win the first four Test matches. The home Test and T20 series against South Africa, then the T20 and ODI series against South Africa during the Africa safari and the T20 and Test series against Zimbabwe.
This is the sixth time in history that Pakistan has won the series 6 or more times in a row.
Earlier, Pakistan cricket team had won 13 consecutive matches in 2011-12, 9 consecutive matches in 2015-16, 8 consecutive matches in 2001-2004 and 1994-1993 The national cricket team, which won both the home Test series against South Africa in 2017, won by a margin of one innings in both the matches against Zimbabwe.
In this format, Pakistan is scheduled to play a series against West Indies (2 Tests) and Bangladesh (2 Tests) in the near future. With the end of the tour of Africa, all the international agreements of Pakistan cricket team for 2020-2020 have been completed. In the last 12 months, Pakistan has played 9 Tests, 6 ODIs and 19 T20 Internationals despite the unusual circumstances of the Corona virus.
Meanwhile, for the first time since 2017, Pakistan has secured 5th position in the ICC Test rankings. Pakistan are currently second in the points table of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League.
