Match-fixing allegations in India's matches rejected due to insufficient evidence

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has rejected allegations of match-fixing and corruption against five people in the Indian team's matches on Al Jazeera TV, based on insufficient evidence.

According to the AFP news agency, the Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera on May 27, 2018, in a program called 'Cricket Match Fixers', alleged that two matches were fixed, one of which was between India and England in Chennai in 2016.  The second was between India and Australia in 2017 in Pune.

The ICC Anti-Corruption Unit's investigation focused on the program's claims, as well as on the suspects and how the program gathered evidence.

After reviewing all of these matters, the ICC concluded that the evidence was insufficient and unreliable to pursue the case.
