Macy's auction of expensive shoes set a world record |
The shoes of Argentine superstar footballer and striker of Spanish club Barcelona Lionel Messi have been auctioned for more than Rs 26.5 million.
Barcelona striker Lionel Messi wore a pair of shoes against Real Valladolid on December 22 and scored a record 644 goals for Barcelona, which he auctioned off for charity.
The shoes were auctioned for 125,000 pounds, or about 26.57 million Pakistani rupees.
Macy's put the shoes up for auction at the National D'Art Museum in Catalonia, and the proceeds from the auction will be used for a health project at a hospital in Barcelona.
